Is anybody interested in getting something organised for a London Aquarium meet-up? May be nice for nannies from all over London and those a bit further out who fancy a day trip in. As weather can be a bit dodgy there are a few cafes and a Pizza Express nearby for lunch after? It's usually best to get there for about 10am when it opens to beat all the school trips, etc.
What days work best for everyone? Can't be a Monday for us.

We went to the aquarium last monday and it was the worst trip ever and we will never go again . Firstly it cost 43 pounds for me and two 3 year olds , second they let tooooo many people in so the whole place was heaving ( and this was at 10 am ) we could not move inside , the children could hardly see any fish , there were prams and buggies everywhere so you could not get near the tanks , it was so stressfull that the children may get lost . the staff were shouting at everyone not to queue to look in the tanks in the tunnel, even tho they had created the queue by letting in so many people in , people were eating their lunch sitting right next to the tasnks so no one else could get near , how selfish ...if i was you i would go somewere else , free or cheap !!!!!!

Oh dear! So sorry you had such a time. I'm open to other places - perhaps the Science Museum - pretty quiet when not half-term?

I have always found people think it is a good idea to sit by the sharks and eat!!! The thought would never cross my mind, I have been when I have had y merlin pass and the oldest was under 3, or if you get the train you can do 2 for 1. Refuse to pay full price as I agree it is pretty pants for the price! The Horniman museum is good and they have a little aquarium there and it is free.

I also think its very expensive for what it is. Its almost the same price as London Zoo which is a far better day out IMO. (love it there) Science museum is good and free Where is the Horniman museum out of interest?

The horniman is in South East London near Forest Hill. It's a small museum with an aquarium it also has nice gardens and there's a park with a HUGE sandpit over the road! Go there quite a lot with my 2 charges they love it!!

They also have different exhibitions on there Caroline, I went ot a robot zoo they had last year and it was really good, robotic animals you could control. You had to pay for that but we had a good day out and filled the day well x

Hey, been trying to find this on a map... How would we get to it coming in from outside London? So from Waterloo, Victoria or Euston say.

You can get a train from either Victoria, Charing Cross or London Bridge. The Victoria train goes to Forest Hill without having to change, but sometimes if you get a train from Charing Cross you'll need to change at London Bridge. Whenyou get to Forest Hill station it's about a 10 min walk uphill to the museum
